The Top Choice WordPress Travel Theme is broken but we fixed it
This is not a basic cosmetic upgrade. Traveler’s native booking system remains the fundamental booking limitation — so our solution uses TicketingHub to replace that booking process with a professional booking system.
Purchase Now
Why we’re offering one complete solution, not a cheaper cosmetic upgrade
A basic child theme without TicketingHub would leave customers with the same fundamental booking problem. You’re not comparing our price against the $79 Traveler purchase — you’re comparing it against “how much will it cost me to hire someone to get this damn thing working and get rid of the error messages?” If a developer has to spend even 10–15 hours diagnosing, fixing, testing and maintaining Traveler, our child theme becomes quite reasonable. At $50/hour that’s about 40 hours of developer work; at $100/hour it’s only 20 hours. We are selling a finished solution, not 20–40 hours of uncertain debugging.
We didn’t set out to build a competing theme
We are Traveler theme customers trying to make our own travel business work. After spending thousands in development and countless hours fixing Traveler, we built the child theme so other Traveler operators don’t have to go through the same process.
Booking, Replaced
Traveler’s native booking system is the fundamental limitation — it can’t be patched. TicketingHub replaces it entirely with a professional booking process, directly behind the Book Now button.
Partner System, Fixed
Image uploads, verification, booking calendars, and partner roles all fixed, plus a new Affiliate Hub with commission tiers.
Reviews, Fixed
Correct star ratings and accurate review score display, fixed across every style after weeks of real debugging.
No More Errors
PHP errors, missing AJAX handlers, and broken author URLs identified and resolved, tested and working.

What we actually fixed
Documented, real-world problems — not theoretical complaints
1. Booking / Conversion Problems
- Book Now sending visitors to the tour page instead of straight into the booking process
- Tour listing cards not consistently providing a prominent Book Now / Check Availability CTA
- Tested against the way major OTAs operate
- We changed our own site to use direct booking popups and saw substantially better sales
- Our TicketingHub integration solves this by putting the booking process directly behind the Book Now action
2. Partner System Problems
- Partner image uploads failing because of permissions
- Partner verification image upload failing
- Partner booking calendar/date picker spinning indefinitely for certain roles
- Custom roles not behaving like the default Partner role
- Partner first/last names disappearing
- Username exposed instead of a professional name
- No proper company identity for hotel/business partners
- Partner bio/about information not properly surfaced
- Partner listings and partner functionality requiring workarounds
- External booking links potentially allowing partners to bypass the commission system
- Partner functionality requiring substantial custom development
- Shine Themes acknowledged some of these limitations, telling us certain functionality required paid customization
3. Review / Rating Problems
- Reviews displaying incorrectly
- 5/5 displaying visually as only one star plus the number 5
- Style 1 and Style 2 required code modifications
- Style 3 required additional investigation and modification
- Ultimately found and fixed multiple files/functions ourselves
- Spent three weeks, roughly 10-hour days, working through the review problems with AI and coding assistance
- Found problems even after reinstalling the current version
4. Bugs / Missing Functionality
- Missing AJAX handler for st_upload_partner_verify_photo
- Incorrect author URL logic
- Image upload/permission problems
- Verification upload problems
- Review calculation/display problems
- Role-dependent booking calendar problems
- Incorrect/misleading review presentation
- Documentation/features that don’t behave as expected
- PHP and other code errors displaying on the screen
- Even identified specific code locations and corrected them
5. Support / Cost Problem
- Purchased the theme and three years of support, encountered unresolved problems, and were subsequently told that customization/support would require additional payment
- The difference between buying a $79 theme and actually getting a professional travel website operating correctly — that’s where a €3,999 working child theme product becomes much easier to justify
6. What We Actually Built
- Built a working child theme
- Fixed Traveler functionality
- Worked on Elementor versions
- Modified the ModTour/ModMix-related versions

- Integrated TicketingHub
- Added direct booking functionality
- Tested the theme extensively
- Spent substantial development time identifying and correcting problems
Some of these issues may vary depending on the Traveler version, demo configuration, plugins and environment. We therefore only support the specific versions we have tested.

Traveler + our solution: €3,999 — vs. Tour Engine Lite: €3,900
That is actually powerful. For essentially the same money, you can ask: why keep fighting with Traveler when you can get our complete Tour Engine Lite for €3,900 instead? The Lite version has unlimited tours, activities and packages — something Shine Themes doesn’t give — plus TicketingHub and free tour and activity export/import, plus additional add-on modules. That makes the Traveler child theme a high-value rescue product for existing Traveler sites, while Tour Engine Lite is the obvious long-term choice for a new build.
